Frequently asked questions

We see children ages 7 to 12 who are able to interact with an examiner via telehealth appointment for extended periods of time–30 minutes at a time before a brief break.

We are not able to assess youth with severe anxiety or depression, youth who are at high risk of self-harm, youth with eating disorders, and youth who are unable for whatever reason to complete telehealth based standardized testing.

You’ll meet with a psychologist so they can better understand your concerns and so they can determine whether we are the right provider for you. We will ask you and your child’s teacher to complete some questionnaires about your child. A member of our team will meet with your child via telehealth to ask some questions, and administer some tests.

The psychologist will write a report summarizing what we learned. We will meet with you, and sometimes your child, to share what we learned and our recommendations. And we will share a detailed report of what we learned. Whenever possible, we will refer you to specific high-quality providers.

The specific rating scales and tests will depend on your specific concerns. We use high-quality assessments that have been validated for diagnostic assessment and are sold by reputable publishers.

Some of the tests we administer were designed and validated for in-person administration and we have to make minor modifications for telehealth. Some research has found that test results are equivalent when administered via telehealth. For some tests, that research has not been done. In the unlikely event that our team feels the test results are not an accurate reflection of your child’s strengths and needs, we will discuss that with you and determine the right next steps.

To work with us, you need to have a reliable internet connection at home, a laptop or desktop with working camera and microphone (not an iPad), an additional phone or device available to use as camera a quiet, private space available for sessions with minimal interruptions, and a parent or guardian available during sessions for assistance if needed. We will provide instructions for set-up on the day of testing.

Complete our intake form. Someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.

No referral is required.

The cost ranges from $250 to $4,000, depending on the assessment process and diagnostic services needed. Parents pay for the services and we provide documentation you submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement rates vary. The services can often be paid for using HSA/FSA/ESA funds.
