What autism services does FronteraCare offer?
FronteraCare offers autism diagnosis and comprehensive ABA therapy, with care available in clinics, homes, schools, and daycare settings, as well as through virtual telehealth when appropriate. Care is personalized to each child’s clinical needs and may involve BCBAs, Lead BCBAs, RBTs, and Behavior Technicians under the guidance of Clinical Directors.
What is ABA therapy?
ABA therapy is a scientifically proven type of behavioral healthcare designed to improve specific behaviors and social skills while reducing challenges that affect daily living. This evidence-based, therapeutic approach focuses on understanding how behavior works, how a kid’s environment influences behavior, and how learning takes place. By tailoring interventions to the unique needs of each child, ABA therapy equips kids with the tools and strategies to thrive at home, in school, in their community, and beyond.
How do I know if my child needs an autism evaluation?
If your child is showing signs of autism, an autism evaluation can help determine whether they meet the criteria for an autism diagnosis and better understand their individual needs. FronteraCare’s online autism testing can help families take the first step toward getting answers and determine whether a full autism evaluation is the right next step.
What happens after my child is referred for autism services?
FronteraCare helps families move from concern and referral through evaluation, diagnosis, intake, assessment, and treatment. Children aged 0-21 who need an autism diagnosis are assessed by a licensed psychologist. Once autism is confirmed, or when a child is referred directly for ABA therapy, the FronteraCare team completes an assessment and develops a model of care based on the child’s needs. An example care plan may include 1:1 RBT sessions under BCBA supervision, parent-implemented care, or BCBA-direct services.
Who will provide my child’s autism treatment?
FronteraCare autism services are led by clinical professionals, including Clinical Directors, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) with Operational and Care teams supporting the care experience. Clinical expertise is paired with evidence-based technology to tailor autism treatment and ABA therapy to each child, track progress, and adjust care plans as needs change.
FronteraCare was founded by Amol Deshpande, a parent of an autistic child who experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating timely, specialized care. That experience shaped a commitment to making high-quality autism services easier for families to access.
Care is personalized to each child and family. Autism services may include testing, evaluation, and diagnosis, as well as ABA therapy for autism treatment. Services are available in person, at school, at home, or online, depending on a child’s needs and family preferences. FronteraCare also prioritizes parent support, providing caregivers with guidance and practical tools to support their child’s progress at home and beyond.
Will insurance cover the autism testing and treatment?
Many insurance plans cover autism and neurodevelopmental testing, especially with a pediatric referral. We can provide documentation for reimbursement and offer affordable self-pay options. The same is true with many ABA services.
Can I use my HSA/FSA to pay?
Yes. You can use HSA/FSA funds to cover services, like pursuing an online autism diagnosis or a full neurodevelopmental evaluation, as well as virtual and in-home ABA therapy. We’ll provide all necessary documentation.
What to look for when choosing an ABA clinic
When choosing an ABA clinic, look for experienced clinicians, individualized care, flexible treatment options, and an autism therapy team that keeps your child’s needs at the center. It can also help to consider:
- Qualified care teams: Look for BCBAs, RBTs, and other trained professionals with appropriate clinical oversight.
- Personalized treatment: Your child’s ABA therapy should be based on their individual strengths, needs, goals, and progress.
- Family involvement: Parents should receive guidance, practical tools, and regular communication so they can support their child beyond therapy sessions.
- Flexible care options: Depending on your child and family, care may be available in a clinic, at home, at school, or online.
- Progress tracking: Ask how the clinic measures progress and how often treatment plans are reviewed and adjusted.
- Access to care: Consider how quickly your child can begin services and whether the clinic can accommodate your family’s schedule and location.
- Technology that supports clinicians: Tools that reduce paperwork and improve supervision, documentation, and progress tracking can give clinicians more time to focus on your child.
The right ABA clinic should offer more than therapy sessions. It should provide a coordinated, personalized approach that helps your child make progress while giving your family the support you need along the way.
